burnt.
so, i've been in california for two days, but the reality that i am here for three more months hasn't quite set in yet. what has definitely set in, however, is my first sunburn of the summer... ouch. i bought some SPF 50 baby sunblock today, because my usual 30 obviously isn't cutting it in the more intense socal sun. also, while i liked the idea of natural, chemical-free sunscreen, it has to be reapplied a lot, is expensive, and feels waxy. so, baby coppertone for me...
i have packed so much into these past two days. delicious food (like a vegan quinoa burrito, grilled gruyere, and tomato basil soup), the santa monica farmers market, my first time in the pacific ocean, breakfast on the beach, hiking temescal canyon, a cookout, visiting my new apartment, getting a car (it used to be owned by the san diego police!), driving down the pch, and quality time with B and C of course!
i think once i'm moved in the apartment, working, and have fully registered the car, it will hit me. i am here for awhile. my head is ready for it, i just hope my skin is...
